I just returned the 78213 hitch to uhaul and went to my Honda dealer and picked up the OEM hitch. Expensive, but appears much more stable. As a side note, when I went to uhaul to return the hitch, the dude at the counter tried to talk me out of returning it. He told me "none" of their hitches have a center support and they never have any problems.The 2018 Outback's OEM hitch is only 1-1/4" but the 2020+ OEM hitch is a full 2". For Gen 5, most people opt for aftermarket 2" hitch receivers and the Gen 5 doesn't seem to have the same cracking issues as the Gen 6, whose OEM hitch never connected to the bumper beam area.
