Bikes naturally have faster cornering than karts, while karts are better on straightaways. ATV's focus more on Grip which means you won't slide as much on ice/sand. Of course this is a generalization as each vehicle has their own unique stats, but they follow a trend (no bike has an increased top Speed for example). In 200cc, moving up by 0.25 will always increase your acceleration, but there are big jumps at the whole numbers and the 0.25 jumps become larger at lower values. The importance of the stats is pretty debatable, but 2.0 acceleration is generally preferred for 150cc. Acceleration drops pretty badly below that value. Not only does it suck to have the race suddenly end because my opponents rage quit, but it really sucks that I don't get the points for winning that I deserve.
