I started out using a 20k as "double duty" and the extra line capacity. I was SHOCKED when I actually got an 18k. The difference was night and day. As for line capacity, the 18k spool holds 350yds of JB 100 hollowcore. If I have to connect heavy mono leader line to heavy fluoro carbon leader line, I'd rather use barrel swivel with short 4 - 6 ft fluoro carbon leader line as any knot to connect heavy mono and fluoro must have a high profile no matter what kind of knot you use and the use of swivel is much stronger.The proper 360tuna way to deploy diving board is a little different. Get a 50W, 50 or 30W, load it up with 5-600 yards of 130# JB HC and the rest with 80 or 100 mono for a topshot. You won't go wrong with any of the three rods you mentioned.
